Tips and Tricks: Eyesight

Three out of four people in our household need to wear glasses.  It used to be once you hit your 40’s it was time for reading glasses, at least that what it always seemed. Nowadays with the daily use of computers, video games, cell phones, tablets and computers we all need to worry about needing glasses young and old. With new technology comes health problems and we at Complete Care Systems hope that we can help your eyesight be the best it can be for a very long time with these helpful tips and tricks!

1. Food is essential in helping with your eyesight. We have all heard of eating your carrots, well its true! Carrots have antioxidants such as beta-carotene which help protect the macula from sun damage. You should also eat food high in vitamins A, C, and E as well as anthocyanin-rich blueberries, grapes, and goji berries.

2. Exercise your eyes. If you have teenage girls you see them do it all the time, even if its not to exercise them. Ha! You can roll your yes, warm your yes, massage your temples, and even take a mini nap (only 3 minutes, though!) These are all quick and easy things to do, but remember to do them before your eyes start hurting, not after.

3. Give your eyes some rest and relaxation. Always get a good amount of sleep and never look at a computer screen for longer than 50 minutes. For every 50 minutes on the computer you should be looking at something else or closing your eyes for 10 minutes. Just don’t fall asleep at work!

I hope that this blog has opened your eyes to the small things that you can do that will make a big impact on your journey to a healthier life! At Complete Care Systems we want to see our clients live full happy and healthy lives!
